Superfoods are nutrient-rich foods considered to be especially beneficial for human health and well-being.

Q. What is Hemp Extract or CBD?

A: Hemp Extract contains CBD, which stands for cannabidiol, a compound extracted from cannabis plants, and the main compound found in the hemp plant. Unlike THC within marijuana plants, CBD is not psychoactive, so it does not change a person's state of mind when they use it.

Q: What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

A: Hemp and marijuana are different species of Cannabis sativa and bred for different purposes. Industrial hemp is exclusively produced by Cannabis sativa, while marijuana can be derived from Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica.

Both hemp and marijuana contain CBD, but there’s a much higher percentage in hemp. Hemp also has much lower levels of THC (less than 0.3%) than the marijuana species.

Industrial hemp is grown to be durable, have very long stalks and as few flowering buds as possible—this can make it easier to extract the high amounts of CBD and smaller amounts of THC. Hemp’s chemical profile means that you can’t get “high” from it, and it is used to create medicinal remedies, food and oil, as well as other products, including rope, bricks, natural polymers, fiber, clothes and many more.

Marijuana strains of cannabis are typically smaller, flimsier and have many flowering buds with the sole purpose of maximizing the concentration of THC. Marijuana is used recreationally and medicinally only.

Q. What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

A. The human
Endocannabinoid System (ECS), named after the plant that led to its discovery, is perhaps the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells.

The Endocannabinoid System, with its complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and all the body's organs, is literally a bridge between body and mind. Hemp unlocks the key to this bridge.

Q. What is the Entourage Effect?

A. The Entourage Effect results when the many components within the hemp plant interact with the body to produce a stronger influence than any one of those components alone – it’s a synergistic effect. All Adapt Brands products include our proprietary blends of superfoods, creating a more potent entourage effect.

Q. What is the shelf life?

A. Our beverages have a 12-month shelf life from the date of production and use a Hot Fill pasteurization process. We recommend that they be stored cold until consumed but can last up to 1 year at ambient temperature. Look for the 'Best Buy' date on the neck of the bottle.

Q. Does ADAPT SUPERWATER need to be refrigerated?

A. ADAPT SUPERWATER is shelf stable and does not require refrigerated storage and shipping. Which may lead to higher-than-normal shipping rates. We work hard to keep these costs down for you.

Q. Is Hemp & CBD legal?

A. Yes. In December 2018, President Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill in to law. Hemp is now permanently removed from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and is forever deemed an agricultural commodity, just like corn, lettuce and avocados. By redefining hemp to include its 'extracts, cannabinoids & derivatives' Congress explicitly has removed popular hemp products - such as hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) - from the purview of the CSA.

Q. How much Hemp Extract is in a bottle of ADAPT SUPERWATER?

A. We aim to dose every bottle of ADAPT SUPERWATER with 25mg HEMP EXTRACT (CBD) per serving (14 fl oz).

Q. Is ADAPT SUPERWATER lab tested?

A. At the end of every production, bottles of finished ADAPT SUPERWATER are sent to a state licensed and certified testing lab for: Potency, Residual Solvents (VOCs), Mold & Heavy Metals Analysis. We publish these independent lab results on our website, which can be accessed and downloaded at any time. We believe in transparency.

Q. Where are ADAPT products made?

A. ADAPT SUPERWATER is currently produced in 1 of 2 facilities. Both are certified GMP & SQF and the bottling facilities are located in Los Angeles, California or Waco, Texas.

A. Monk fruit extract is 150 to 200 times sweeter than sugar. The extract contains zero calories, zero carbohydrates, zero sodium, and zero fat. This makes it a popular sweetener alternative for manufacturers who make low-calorie products and for the consumers who eat them.

Q. Will Hemp Extract or CBD show up on a drug test?

No. A majority of drug tests do not test for the compound CBD; however, we recommend consulting with your doctor and/or employer if this is a concern.

Q. Will I get high after consuming ADAPT Products?

A. No. ADAPT Products are made from hemp-derived extract, which contains less than 0.03% of the THC compound, as reflected in our lab results.

What makes Hemp an original Superfood?

Omega-3 & Omega-6 Fatty Acids

The Hemp Plant contains both Omega-3 and Omega- fatty acids. These fatty acids are considered “essential” because the human body does not produce them, they have to be ingested. Essential fatty acids are key to brain health. The human brain is nearly 60% fat, and the right kinds of fatty acids protect it against neurogenerative diseases.

Hemp seeds are one of the world’s most potent natural sources of magnesium. Magnesium is a mineral required for a healthy metabolism. Nearly 75% of the U.S. population does not get enough magnesium.

Terpenes are found in all plants, and cannabis is no exception.  Terpenes provide different cannabis strains their unique scent and flavor. In partnership with cannabinoids such as THC and CBD, terpenes contribute to the “entourage effect;” multiple compounds working together to produce a particular outcome.

Common Terpenes include:

Limonene has a citrusy scent and flavor. It has been shown to promote weight loss, prevent and treat cancer, and treat bronchitis.

Myrcene is earthy with a hint of fruity flavors. Myrcene has been shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory. It also works as a sedative and a muscle relaxer.

Linalool is floral with a hint of spiciness. It can be used as an anti inflammatory, helps modulate motor movements, and can be used to treat liver cancer.

Essential Amino Acids

Cannabis and Hemp plants contains essential amino acids, which our bodies also do not produce. Amino acids are necessary for cell function, helping cells maintain their structure,
repair damaged tissue, and transport nutrients.

Cannabinoid Acids

When cannabis is in its raw state, it contains the cannabinoids THC-A and CBD-A. When heat is applied to these compounds that they break down into psychoactive THC and active CBD. While these active compounds have their own benefits, THC-A and CBD-A also have high anti-inflammatory properties and can be consumed in higher doses due to their non-psychoactive nature.

Cannabis was added to the U.S. Pharmacopeia in 1850 and was widely used as a medicinal drug, easily purchased in pharmacies and general stores until 1915 when non medical use prohibition first began. In 2003 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services sought and was granted a patent covering the use of non-psychoactive cannabinoids to protect the brain from damage and degeneration.

Cannabis has been utilized for over 10,00 years for a myriad of health benefits across cultures globally. Given its rich history and the recent progress made not just in the United States but around the world, we envision a time in the not-too-distant future when not a single adult is punished for using this superfood to enhance their health.
